The Biggest Mistake Happens Before I Even Pick Up the Needle

Most people think the hardest part of a Braided Weft appointment is creating the braid.

It isn't.

For me...

the hardest part happens before I even pick up the needle.

It's making a decision.

Not my decision.

Our decision.

One of the questions I hear all the time is...

"How many grams do I need?"

I completely understand why people ask.

It feels like there should be a simple answer.

100 grams.

150 grams.

200 grams.

Done.

But after installing Braided Weft Hair Extensions for years...

I've realised something.

The question isn't really...

"How many grams do I need?"

The better question is...

"What do you want your hair to feel like every morning?"

Because that's where the answer usually is.

Some clients tell me,

"I just want my ponytail to feel a little thicker."

Others tell me,

"I've always dreamed of really long, full hair."

Neither answer is better.

They're just different.

And that's why I don't start by measuring hair.

I start by listening.

Sometimes we end up choosing 75 grams.

Sometimes 200 grams.

Sometimes we decide the client doesn't actually need as much as they first thought.

Other times we discover they naturally suit more.

The grams don't make the decision.

The conversation does.

That's one of the reasons I love Braided Weft so much.

The technique stays the same.

But the thinking behind it changes every single day.

No two consultations have ever been identical.

No two heads of hair have ever been identical.

And honestly...

that's what keeps me excited about doing hair after all these years.

The braid might look similar when you leave the salon.

But the reason it sits where it does...

The reason we chose that amount of hair...

The reason we placed that row...

Those decisions belong to you.

Not to a formula.
